What this part of DIY Joinery is for.
The current door template prepares a rectangular slab front. Style names, images or existing cabinet brands do not determine its size: the customer enters and approves the finished dimensions.
Measurement
Record the finished door—not the opening.
The template does not calculate overlay, reveal or clearance from an opening. Enter the door size after those fitting decisions have been established.
Hardware
Keep drilling separate until positions are exact.
A door can proceed without hinge drilling. Any cup or fixing holes require exact positions and compatible hardware evidence in the production workflow.
Door schedule
Give every differing front its own line.
A clear reference schedule makes review and installation easier.
Group identical doors
Use quantity when material, dimensions, grain and edge requirements are identical.
Separate handed or drilled doors
Create distinct lines whenever machining, handing or reference positions differ.
Preserve visual sets
Record grain intent and keep adjacent door references in their intended sequence.
Measure before entry
Check every condition that can change the front.
Existing doors are normally the clearest reference when replacing like for like.

Common questions.
Will the configurator calculate my door from the cabinet opening?
No. Enter the checked finished door size. Overlay, inset gaps and cabinet alignment remain fitting decisions.
Can hinge holes be added automatically?
Not from a generic door choice. Exact approved hardware and customer-confirmed positions are required before drilling can become a production instruction.
Can all four edges be finished?
You can record that intent. The exact compatible edging is selected and confirmed later in Board Cutting.
