The clear version

What this part of DIY Joinery is for.

Coating is an explicit production choice. Raw MDF is not silently assumed painted, and decorative boards retain their supplied surface unless a compatible finish is requested.

01

Finish system

Choose primer or solid colour.

The available catalogue and price-per-square-metre source is shared between furniture configuration and Board Cutting.

02

Surface intent

Identify faces and exposed edges.

Selected faces and edge positions stay attached to each component through preparation, coating and inspection.

03

Compatibility

Resolve material constraints before review.

The interface blocks incompatible combinations rather than assuming every published board can accept the selected finish.

Specify a finish

Choose materials before adding coating.

Compatible finish choices will appear within the furniture or cutting workflow.
